1.Cubic houses. Rotterdam, the Netherlands

These iconic architecture houses, in particular, are cubes (yes, cubes) that are tilted at a 45degree angle by Dutch architect Piet Blom. They are designed to look like an abstract tree, and each structure, with its timber frames and triangular roof, is a tree.

 

 

2.The twisted skyscraper HSB. Malmo, Sweden

Imagine that you live in the tallest building in Sweden. What kinds! Home parties! 

Spanish sculptor and architect Santiago Calatrava designed and built this curved skyscraper in 2005. 

On the 49th floor there is a public observation deck, and on the 50-52th floors there is a restaurant and a private club.

 

 

3.Habitat 67. Montreal, Canada

Shown at the 1967 World's Fair, this concrete mix was invented by Israeli Canadian architect Moshe Safdi.

While it was originally just a concept for a thesis at McGill University, the 148 units stacked on top of or around each other somewhat resemble a deconstructed Rubik's cube.

 

 

4.The Shard. London, England

We've all seen the Shard (which should look like a "shard" of glass) either on a postcard, in a magazine, or most likely on a social network. 

This is a London skyscraper, and some would argue that it sticks out like a sore thumb and is a kind of reminder that the super-rich are always there. 

With that in mind, it's not surprising, since there are only 10 apartments in the Shard (all insanely expensive), some of which are estimated at $ 60 million or more. 

However, it is unclear if they were purchased and if someone actually lives in them. Why? Maybe it's the price. 

Or the lack of marketing associated with selling them. However, the 95storey building - the tallest in the UK - certainly strikes with its design.

 

5.432 Park Avenue. New York, USA

How do you even live in such a building (that is, the tallest apartment building in New York)? The question is, of course, rhetorical. 

The 426-meter-high residential skyscraper, which officially opened in 2015 and is located on Billionaires Street, includes a private restaurant for residents and a $ 95 million penthouse with six bedrooms, a library, wine cellar, pool and spa. (among other amenities). 

How much does an apartment cost here on average? Well, it can be tricky to get the exact number:

6.Verde 25. Turin, Italy

Can a tree house stand well in a city? If this fabulous piece by architect Luciano Pia is any indication, the answer is a resounding "Yes!" Trees and vines cover the wood shingles of 63 residential buildings that sit on steel columns and are shaped like trees and branches.

 

 

7.Apartments Basket from OFIS. Paris, France

Frankly speaking, this architectural structure from the OFIS design studio is unfair because it is exclusively a student residence. 

There are 192 studios in total, and they are stacked to resemble, you guessed it, baskets. 

The apartments are located in two blocks, each of which has 11 floors with balconies and a wire mesh façade. 

The wide corridors are designed to be used as open spaces for student communication, and the structures are also energy efficient.

 Elements such as glass staircases let in a lot of natural light.

 

 

8.Apartment 18. Istanbul, Turkey

Aytac Architects has designed this luxurious residential building in the Erenköy area, which is intended to pay tribute to the vineyards that were destroyed here about 50 years ago due to “compaction”. 

At first glance from the street, the apartments seem to twist and turn over one another, like vines. 

At ground level and on the roof, there are tranquil gardens and therefore plenty of natural light.

 

9.Aqua tower. Chicago, USA

This 82story residential skyscraper in downtown Chicago features, among other things, an undulating façade that only accentuates

its sculptural form of nautical aesthetics.

Designed by Studio Gang Architects, the building, in addition to 476 rental apartments, also includes a hotel, offices and one of

the largest green roofs in the city.

 

 

10.Spectrum Apartments. Box Hill, Australia

This geometric structure contains 71 apartments. Brought to life by Kavellaris Urban Design, the Spectrum is reminiscent of the Cubic Houses of Rotterdam and the Basket Apartments in Paris, but its five floors are arguably more graceful, with a dynamically colorful façade and little touches like zigzags in the corridors. more than make it stand out.
