Many travelers , engaged on tours in France , do not move away from the big cities , such as Paris and Lyon .

They do not know , that they are losing : the medieval towns with narrow cobbled streets and the city walls .

They also do not see the enchanting city , where there is the cult of wine and where else can you see a real , more traditional France .  

 These small towns in France are often located amidst the beautiful scenery of the mountains and the sea .


Gordes

  1. Gorda

Gordes - is one of the most beautiful villages of France , located in the region of Provence - Luberon .

Grey and white stone houses spiral climb up the rock hill , which is crowned by a church and a medieval castle .

 The best place , to photograph this picturesque resort .

One of the attractions is the building of the abbey 12 - century ,   where monks still make honey , lavender and liqueurs .




  1. Eguisheim

Eguisheim is the personification of , how should look like medieval Europe . Eguisheim was voted favorite village in France in 2013 year .

It is a medieval village , is uniquely located near the local castle . It is famous for its wines , and in fact is well known ,  

as the " cradle of the Alsatian wine " .

  1. Roussillon

Roussillon is located at the foot of Mont - de - Vaucluse . Here you can see  the red building , instead of white or gray color .

 This is because , that Roussillon is located in one of the world's largest deposits of ocher .

The red rocks are added the picturesque architecture of the city . The village and neighborhood so colorful , that they are often compared to the palette .




Sant'Antonino (Haute Corse)

  1. Sant ' Antonino

Sant ' Antonino - tiny extremely picturesque village , which is located at an altitude of 460 m above sea level on the island of Corsica .

Locals and tourists have given the village the nickname of " Eagle's Nest " . This is one of the most beautiful and oldest places in Corsica .

Moustiers - Sainte - Marie , located on the south - east of France , another picturesque village , which is one of the most beautiful in France .

 Mountains do native species are very beautiful . Moustiers - Sainte - Marie is famous for its ceramics, and  is situated on terraces on the hillside .

Saint - Veran - is a small village , situated in the regional natural park of Keira in the French Alps in the south - eastern France .

 It is a beautiful village , which was built on a hillside overlooking the valley of the river .

 Saint - Veran is famous for its houses with high wooden attic balconies .




Riquewihr

      Riquewihr - this village with a population of less than 1500 people in the north - east of France , which is famous for two things

     : its historic architecture and its magnificent wines . Medieval fortifications , surrounding the city and  the old castle was converted into a museum .

Etretat - a small village on the coast of Normandy in the north - west of France .

The resort town of La - Manche known for its magnificent white chalk cliffs and the three natural arches , which inspired such artists ,

 like Courbet and Monet . Guy de Maupassant wrote stories here .

  1. Eze

Eze - a small village on the French Riviera, famous for its medieval castle , which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea .

To get to the top of the castle, with its narrow cobbled streets dare a few , but the journey is worth the effort . When you reach the top ,

you will be rewarded with cactus garden, stunning views of the Mediterranean sea .

Peillon is a unique picturesque small town . In - First , it is located on a cliff , about 18 kilometers north of Nice on the French Riviera .

In - Second ,   the city is only for pedestrians . In - Thirdly , it lacks numerous souvenir shops , restaurants and shops .
