중국 Guangxi성의 아름다운 rice terraces

In the Chinese province of Guangxi village elders tell the ancient adage : there , where there is soil , there is a terrace .

 In Guangxi province , two hours away from the city of Guilin , the problem of the cultivation of rice has long been solved on steep hills .

The terraces cover an area of more than sixty square kilometers and climb into the mountains to a height of 1100 meters above sea level .

There are also trying to develop the tourist industry and many local families build  small inns , to receive tourists .

For centuries, rice terraces belonging to the families and passed down from generation to generation .

Each family produces a sufficient amount of rice , to feed themselves .   However , there is always room for small pleasures .

 Part of the harvest is used every year , to make rice wine .

Twenty-first century , of course , brought a strong social changes in their way of life of indigenous peoples .

 Now a lot of young people leaving from here to the big cities in search of a better life .

 Although the terraces are still handled by the local people , now they are no longer the main source of income for local people .

Terraces are unprofitable today . It is impossible to grow rice at competitive prices , simply because , that the terraces are too small ,

to grow rice yield significantly . Currently, however,  the terrace, more and more used to attract tourists .
