Floating Bridge Guangji in Chaozhou , Guangdong Province , China

Bridge Guangji , also known as a bridge Hiangzi - an ancient bridge over the Han River in Chaozhou , Guangdong Province , China .

 It is known as one of the four most famous ancient bridges in China . The other three yamosta , a bridge Zaoskhou , Lugo and bridge Luoyang .

There local saying , that if you come in Chaozhou and visited the bridge , your visit to Chaozhou was useless .

In addition to the ancient and historical significance , Guangji Bridge is the first known pontoon bridge in the world , which can be opened and

closed .

Some of Guangji Bridge is supported by eighteen floating vessels , which can be moved to the side , to create an open channel for the passage

 of ships . Initially, the whole bridge was floating structures and supports eighty-six huge boats .

Today, only the middle section of the bridge can be opened .

Bridge Guangji was built during the reign of the Song Dynasty in 1170 year , according to the judge's orders on behalf of Wang Zeng .

Originally, the bridge was named Kangtszi . Just four years after its construction , the flood drifted toward the bridge , and thus another magistrate Zhang Wei He led the workers , to restore it .

 In those days , the areas were headed by the magistrates , who not only supervised the observance of law and order , but were also responsible

for managing the area .

Soon, several magistrates Prefecture began to participate in the construction of the bridge .

Among them , Dean Yunyuan brought people and built piers . His achievements were the most prominent , so that the bridge was named the

 bridge Ding Gong . In 1194 year , a magistrate built a pavilion on the east coast and called bridge Tszihuan .

By 1206 , the construction of the bridge was completed .

During the reign of the Ming Dynasty , the bridge was reconstructed and renamed as Guangji Bridge .

 Later , during the Qing dynasty , on both ends of the  two oxen statues were installed bridge .

The bridge now has about 500 meters in length , is supported by 24 stone piers and 18 boats , and it has 24 of the pavilion .
