NY-ålesund is a town in the Norwegian province of Svalbard (Svalbard).

Nude-about esunn is the most northerly in the world standing public settlement.

Although the resident population Nu-Alesund is about 30 people, in summer it increases to more than 120 due to the influx of researchers.

NY-ålesund was founded by Kings Bay Kull Company in 1916, and all other modern settlement in the archipelago,

for coal mining, which began in 1917 year.

Already in the year 1929, however, coal mining was halted and was resumed only in 1945,

 when the Norwegian Government assumed all costs.

In 1963, the year due to falling coal prices and because of frequent collapses and explosions of methane in mines,

 the death of working problems, coal production was finally stopped.

In 1925, 1926 and 1928 respectively from Nu-Alesund expedition started r.

 Amundsen and w. Nobile to the North Pole on planes and dirigibles.

After this, the NY-ålesund was almost abandoned, but since 1968, began its development in the role of a research center.

 In addition to the Norway, Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea and China support their research stations

 in NY-Alesund; in recent years, negotiations on the opening of the Russian station.

The only activity in the Nude-Alesund research are, for the same reason,

 tourism developed very little since active tourists can interfere with scientific research.
