Pompei

In Pompeii has a full oval amphitheater, a semicircular theater, a small theater.

The first was used for performances of 160 years, before it was buried under the ashes of Vesuvius in 79 CE. E ..

Today, each arena is in excellent condition, although most of the seats of the amphitheater is absent. 

Colosseum, Rome

 Completed in 80 AD, the Colosseum became the most famous Roman amphitheater in the world and are able to fit 50,000 spectators.

 It played out dramatic representations, as well as held gladiator fights.

The four-building is a remarkable monument of ancient architecture. Today, the top of the Coliseum is no,   

 but it's - still magnificent structure.

Pula

 Arena amphitheater in Croatia is very well preserved.

It is also one of the largest arenas, its construction was completed in 68 g of. N. E. And can accommodate 23,000 spectators.

 There were held gladiator fights to 5 - th century. Today, the arena is used for concerts , there were Pavarotti and Tom Jones.

Ephesus(Hilt)

The ancient trading port in Turkey, Ephesus,   has a huge Greek theater, which was built in 3 century BC. E.,

 And reconstructed in Roman times. The audience watched the political, religious and musical events.

Who: The theater is a highlight of the tour of the archaeological site. 

Athens

 In ancient Athens has survived two major theater, the Roman Odeon of Herodes Atticus (161 g. N. E.),

And much older Theater of Dionysus.

Taormina

 What makes this the most wonderful Greek theater? Probably a beautiful backdrop of Mount Etna behind the scenes.

Rooted in the 7 century BC, the theater was expanded by the Romans.

Who: The theater is just a short walk from the main street of Taormina in Sicily.

Pergam

 They say, that the steepest theater of the ancient world - the Greek architectural marvel at the archaeological site of the Acropolis of

 Pergamon in Turkey. Now: It has a beautiful view from the top with 80 rows of seats.

Delphi, Greece.

 Above the temple of Apollo is well preserved in 2400 - year Greek theater, carved into the mountain Parnassus.

This stadium, which has been used for sports events. The view from the height of the theater through Delphi just  fascinates and impresses.

Cartagena

 The excavation has only recently helped to find this magnificent Roman theater in the south - eastern Spain.

Later it was used as a market and the cathedral was built on top of it in medieval times.

 Today, the theater is open to the public six days a week and is located in the city center,

very close to the port. A very good museum is part of the complex.

Arles

 Located next to the delta of the Rhone, Arles was a key trading port. In its center there is the one-piece oval amphitheater in the world,

built in 90 CE. E. Its capacity is 20,000 people. Nearby is the semi-circular theater 1 - th century BC.

Today the amphitheater on - still hosts a variety of concerts.
