Maijishan 석굴

 

Maijishan grottoes is a system of 194 caves cut into the steep wall of the Hill Maijishan grottoes in Tianshui city in Northwest China.

This example of rock architecture contains more than 7200 Buddhist sculptures and more than 1000 sq.m. the frescoes.

Construction of the grottoes began in the Late Qin dynasty (4th-5th century).
