화산재에 묻힌 Canary 제도

Cumbre Vieja 화산은 이제 두 달 이상 분출되어 La Palma섬에서 용암류와 지진을 일으키고 있다. 또한 수백만 ㎥의 화산재를 공중으로

분출하고 있으며, 재가 떨어진 인근 경관을 뒤덮고 있다. 재는 우박처럼 떨어지거나 먼지처럼 표류할 수 있으며, 집, 농장 및 숲을 덮고

바람에 쌓이고 흩날린다. 일부 제거 작업이 도로를 청소하고 처진 옥상에 부담을 완화하기 위해 하고 있지만 더 많은 재가 계속 떨어지고 있다. 다음 사진은 La Palma 화산의 가까운 곳 중 일부에서 지난 몇 주 동안 대처해 온 것을 보여준다.
