Gansu (간쑤 , 甘肅)성은 행정상으로 중국 서북부에 있는 성. 

북쪽으로는 몽골 인민공화국, 남쪽으로는 칭하이 성과 쓰촨 성, 동쪽으로는 닝샤후이족 자치구와 산시 성, 네이멍구 자치구, 서쪽으로는 

신장웨이우얼 자치구 등과 경계를 이루고 있다. 진제국 때 중국 영토의 일부가 되었다. 1920년에는 동부 지역에서 대지진이 일어나 

약 25만명에 달하는 사상자가 나왔다. 여름과 겨울의 온도차가 극심하고, 강우량은 적고 불규칙적이다. 거주 인종은 몽골족과 후이족,

티베트족 일부와 한족이다. 보리와 기장, 콩 등이 주요 경작 곡물이며, 면과 양모, 담배 등의 환금작물도 재배한다. 면적 454,430㎢,

인구 27,630,000(2020 추계).
