세계에서 가장 특이한 고층 빌딩 10

1.Robot Building, Bangkok

This cute robot appeared in Bangkok in the late 80s. The shape of the building was intended to celebrate the successes in the computerization of banking, and the architect decided not that it is entirely trivial: the model of the "skyscraper" served as a toy robot of his son. In general, we look and feel touched: only 20 floors and a retro robot as the personification of progress.

2.Žižkov Television Tower, Prague

This television tower is one of the tallest in Europe (216 meters, however, the breath from this figure, frankly, does not stop: Ostankinskaya, for example, is 540 meters). That's not why we show it to you. The tower got into the list of strange high-rise buildings, firstly, because of its original architecture - from a distance it resembles a rocket. And, by the way, not everyone likes it: the locals call the tower either "Baikonur" or "Pershing" without much approval. And secondly, if you look closely, we will see that the tower is decorated with figures of babies as if rising up. Initially, the figures were a temporary measure - they were installed in 2000 (the construction of the tower itself was completed back in the 90s). But then they decided to leave for good. And rightly so: more, more absurdity and entropy!

3.CCTV Headquarters, Beijing

Against the background of black babies crawling up the TV tower resembling a space rocket, everything here is quite decent, even modest. But on a large scale! Before us is the headquarters of the Chinese state broadcaster CCTV by the famous Rem Koolhaas. The facility was built for the 2008 Olympics - with a corresponding scale: height 234 meters, 54 floors, total area - 475 thousand square meters. It is said to be the world's largest free-standing building after the Pentagon.

4.Nakagin Capsule Tower, Tokyo

The Nakagin Tower is the work of one of the founders of such a trend as architectural metabolism, also famous for his high-tech works, Japanese Kise Kurokawa. What is metabolism in terms of architecture? Quite simply, during the life cycle of a building, individual elements can become obsolete, removed, replaced by new ones, etc. But let's not act as Ted Mosby and just rejoice at how cute this building looks like, as if made of boxes. Inside, in "capsules", are offices and apartments.

5.Tower "Mercury", Moscow

And here is the domestic representative - one of the towers of the Moscow City. By the way, it is the Mercury skyscraper that for some reason is often criticized by Muscovites, singling it out even among the “brothers” in the business center. Probably, it's all about the defiantly bright "gold" of the facade. We like it!

6.Ryugyong Hotel Tower, Pyongyang

This "rocket" - the Ryugen hotel in North Korean Pyongyang - is a famous long-term construction: its construction began in 1987, and was completed only in 2014. The skyscraper is very much disliked by the capitalist press: in 2008, Esquire magazine called the hotel "the ugliest building in the history of mankind", and four years later it was ranked second in the same anti-rating by the Daily Telegraph.

7.Genex Tower, Belgrade

Genex Tower - a complex of two towers, built in the "shaggy" 1980. Its official name is the "Western Gate of Belgrade": according to the idea of the then Yugoslav authorities, the skyscraper was supposed to "welcome" those who come to the city from Nikola Tesla airport. Such is the banner-banner about 140 meters long.

8.Kingdom Center, Riyadh

The architectural project of the Kingdom Center skyscraper, built in the capital of Saudi Arabia, was developed by the Americans. And, apparently, big beer lovers. The height of this "opener" is over 300 meters. In addition to boring offices, apartments and shops, the skyscraper has an observatory and a mosque. It also houses the Four Seasons Hotel and the headquarters of one of the companies owned by the Saudi prince. Everyone who wants to become heroines of the "oriental tale" - only here.

9.30 St Mary Ax (The Gherkin), London

This 40-story wonder in London is the work of the famous Norman Foster. Its main feature is the absence of corners, as well as many nicknames, the most popular of which is "cucumber", and the most indecent ... well, everyone understood.

10.Marina Bay Sands Resort, Singapore

The photo shows not an interplanetary space station, but a complex of skyscrapers worth about eight billion dollars, located in Singapore. An economic miracle was created here long ago, now there is an architectural miracle. Inside - a hotel, a casino, shops, swimming pools, museums, theaters, restaurants - in general, if you get here, you don't have to go back.
