세계에서 가장 이상한 sports 10

1.타조 경주

Ostrich races originated in Africa and are a longtime pastime in a number of African countries.

This sport has been popular in Florida since the 1890s, when a theme park in Jacksonville offered ostrich rides to visitors.

International camel and ostrich races have been held in Virginia, Nevada for about 60 years.

Large flightless birds harnessed like horses.

Horsemen sit on ostriches, holding tightly while they run along the highway at a speed of up to 69 kilometers per hour.

Ostriches are said to be much more difficult to handle than horses, and many participants are often thrown to the ground.

2.낙타 Wrestling

This Turkish sport is several thousand years old.

Just like during horse riding or cockfighting, bets are made when owners parade their carefully camouflaged camels before a fight to show their

strength and skill.

The competition begins with the fact that the female camel show two male camels, which then inevitably begin to fight for the "prize".
Adult camels are specially fed to increase their weight and chances of winning when they push and hit each other in the arena.

Inevitably, one camel surrenders and runs away, and the winner often goes after him after him.

The winner is the camel, who will make his opponent scream, fall or run first.

3.골판지 튜브싸움(Fighting cardboard tubes)

In childhood we loved to make funny duels with cardboard tubes.
However, if you didn’t know, they have become a recognized “sport” that has gone international.
The Cardboard Tube Fighting League; CTFL now has branches in the US, Australia, Belgium and the UK, where events are regularly held.
The goal is to return to some children's fun with organized cardboard fights and battles.

During the tournament, participants go through a series of fights and must use the same handset for the first and second rounds.
A damaged or broken pipe means immediate disqualification in the first round. The winner is the last person with the whole pipe.

Only tubes with a length of 91 cm and a diameter of 3.8 centimeters are allowed.
Participants can take part either in a one-on-one duel or in a team tournament in a total cardboard battle.
Fancy dress - made of cardboard, of course - is not mandatory, but is welcomed during some events.

4. Kaninhop - 토끼 점프 대회
Horse racing and dog agility are not new, unlike Kaninhop, or “rabbits jumping competitions” that have become an international sport.

Well-trained rabbits for the first time took part in the Kaninhop in Sweden in the 1980s.
This sport caused international interest, and now similar championships are held in the USA, Japan and even Australia.
Rabbits are judged by the time to overcome the distance, as well as the height of their jumps.
The current world record is 100 centimeters high and 3 meters long.
Around the world, a number of training clubs have been created, where Kaninhop enthusiasts meet to train their eared friends.

5.Extreme 다림질
Most of us view ironing as a chore rather than a pastime or a sport. However, the World Extreme Ironing Championship has been held since 2002.
Participants from all over the world are competing in different categories, setting up their ironing boards in the strangest places.
The place is limited only by the imagination of the participants. Extreme ironing lovers never have difficulty choosing a new fancy ironing place.
They can combine ironing with snorkeling, scuba diving, water skiing and even horse riding.
Participants are evaluated not only by the place in which they performed the task, but also by the quality of the process
- there should be no folds or burns.

6.엄지 발가락싸움(Fighting big toes)

Like arm wrestling, the lovers of this sport grab with their big toes and try to knock down the opponent's foot.
The competition was first held in one of the pubs of Derbyshire, United Kingdom, in 1976.
Despite the fact that the application of the organizers for the inclusion of this sport in the Olympic Games was rejected in 1997, the world
championship is still held in Derbyshire every year.

Rivals interlock big toes in the ring, trying to overcome the opponent's foot. Both hands should be pressed to the ground, and the unused leg
should be in the air. Winners are determined in three rounds. A broken big toe or a sprained ankle is not uncommon in this strange sport.

7.늪 다이빙(Diving in the swamp)

Participants in the scuba diving competition must try to overcome the distance in the muddy peat bog, using only the power of flippers to advance.

They flock from all over the world to the Welsh town of Llanurtide Wells every August to take part in the world championship.

Participants must swim two 55-meter circles, using only their feet in flippers.

More serious athletes can choose the Swamp Triathlon, which includes one swamp lap, a 19-km cycling race and a 13-kilometer race.

The current world record for scuba diving in the swamp is one minute and 18.82 seconds. You will be happy, like a pig bathed in mud if you win.

8.Cheese Race

Cheese race originated in Gloucestershire, UK. Unusual competitions date back to the 1800s, when they were a local festival celebrating

the coming of spring, which took place every May.

Appearing as a local event, the annual Kupershild Cheese Race now attracts participants from around the world.

They congregate on top of a steep hill to catch a downward head of cheese weighing about 3.6 kg.

The first person to cross the finish line wins this cheese.

A heavy cheese head can reach speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour, which sometimes leads to injuries to the competitors.

Indeed, every year there are reports of injuries sustained either from the blow of a rapidly rolling cheese wheel, or from stumbling while running

along a steep hill. It seems that you need to make a lot of effort if you want to get cheddar or brie.

9.아내업고 달리기(World Championships on carrying wives)

Competitions on the wearing of wives originated in Finland and became international.

Participants carry a woman or girl through an obstacle course, and the winner is a couple who completes the course without breaking

the rules as soon as possible.

The length of the strip is 253.5 meters, with two obstacles on land and one in water.

Women must weigh at least 49 kilograms (they are allowed to load themselves in order to reach the allowed weight).

They should not be the legitimate wives of the participants; competitors can “borrow” a wife from a friend or neighbor.

While there are no rules restricting the way of wearing, the “Estonian method”, when the “wife” hangs upside down with the legs on the “husband” s

houlders and with hands around his waist, is the most popular.

Currently, wives are competing in several countries, and international championships have been held in Sonkajärvi, Finland, since 1995.

(The competition was only available to the Finns from 1992 to 1994.) The current world record is 55.5 seconds.

10.팬츠안에 Ferret넣고 오래견디기( Ferret-in-pants)

Pile-in-pants is a sport believed to have been invented by miners from Yorkshire (North England). This is an endurance contest with ferrets in pants.

The winner is the one who can last longer with the ferrets in their pants.

This may seem like a relatively simple task, but there are some strange rules, and the event usually lasts a few hours.

Only men can take part in the competition. Participants firmly tie the pants at the ankles, not allowing the ferrets to slip out.

One ferret is lowered into each leg, and then the belt is fastened tightly.

According to the competition rules, ferrets should have teeth, they should not be soothed, and participants should not wear underwear.

They can not give a ferret to bite themselves, only by carrying out manipulations with the outside of the pants.

The winner is the ferret who endures this madness the longest. The current world record for ferret-in-pants is 5 hours 30 minutes.
