 세계에서 가장 평화로운 나라 15- (GPI) in 2014


매년 세계 평화 상장지수(GPI)가 재평가 된다. 

현재 우리는 격동의 시대에 살고 있으며 끊임없이 지역 전쟁과 무력 충돌이 세계 어딘가에서 발생하지만, 사실 꽤 평화로운 

국가가 있다. 

평화의 수준을 평가하기 위해, GPI 지수는 몇 가지 기준에 따라 특정 국가를 평가: 

사회의 보안 수준; 내부 또는 국제 분쟁의 정도; 그리고 군사화의 정도. 

최종 평가에서 가장 평화로운 국가는 유럽에서 다시 발견되었으며, 시리아, 아프가니스탄 및 이라크와 같은 중동의 일부 국가는 

세계에서 가장 평화롭지 못한 국가였다.


1.Australia 

Australia leads the world ranking not only because of the size of its territory - it is the sixth largest country in the world, but because of the high

 quality of life, health, education, economic freedom and the protection of civil liberties and political rights. 

It is also the 12th world economy with a population of over 23 million people.


Australia is ranked 13th in the world in terms of the size of the defense budget, and its military is involved in peacekeeping operations,

 in the aftermath of natural disasters and armed conflict.



2. Slovenia

Slovenia is a country with an area of ​​only 7827 square kilometers and is located on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. 

More than half of the country's territory is covered with forests, and 2061085 people live here.

Slovenia is famous for its education system, which ranks 12th in the world. 

The country's armed forces are mainly used for peacekeeping support and were sent to Afghanistan, Kosovo and Bosnia.



3. Ireland

Ireland is the 20th largest island on earth. More than 6 million people live on this Emerald Island, with more than 1 million people living 

in the capital Dublin.

The military of Ireland is mainly used in United Nations peacekeeping missions and in defending the country from attack.



4. Sweden

More than 65% of its territory is forested, forcing most of the 9 million Swedes to live in southern Sweden. 

Sweden is the seventh largest economy in the world. It is home to companies such as IKEA and Volvo.

 Her foreign policy allows her to remain neutral during wars, although she remains active in peacekeeping missions.



5. Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is bordered by Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland. 

Despite its small territory, the Czech Republic has a relatively large population (over 10 million people).

Currently, the Czech Republic continues to grow as a high-income economy.



6. Norway

With the highest human development index in the world, Norway is definitely one of the best countries to live.

The standard of living in Norway is one of the highest in the world. In general, both economically and socially 

- this is one of the most stable countries in the world. Norway was one of the founding countries of NATO in 1949 and regularly participates

 in UN and NATO missions.



7. Belgium

Geographically small country with a rather large population. 

Belgium is home to more than 11 million people, most of whom live in urban areas. 

Belgium is divided into two large regions: Flanders in the north and Wallonia in the south. The Belgian military participates in UN missions.



8. Japan

The Land of the Rising Sun is home to 126 million people. 

The population of Japan has the highest life expectancy in the world, and is also one of the most technologically advanced countries

 in the world. Cars, electronics, machinery, chemicals, and processed foods are produced here. 

Japan’s self-defense forces are funded at a rate of 1% of the country's GDP and are aimed at maintaining peace and internal defense.



9. Canada

The second largest country in the world in total area, Canada is bordered by the United States. 

Canada is known for its wealth, and ranks eighth in the world in terms of per capita income. 

Canada maintains a high level of economic growth through mining and services.


Canadian Forces are funded at a rate of 1.15% of the country's GDP.



10. Finland

Geographically, Finland is the eighth largest country in Europe.

Finnish-speaking country with a population of about 5.5 million people, where more than 1.4 million people live in the Greater Helsinki region.


The Finnish Defense Forces are funded by 1.47% of the country's GDP. 

They protect the borders of the country and participate in peacekeeping missions abroad. 

In Finland, universal military service is respected - all adult men must serve in the army for at least 165 days.



11. Switzerland

Everyone has heard of swiss chocolate and swiss jars. 

But Switzerland is also known for being a very peaceful country.

 It boasts a population of over 8 million people. Switzerland continues to be a thriving economy and is the richest country in the world 

per capita.

Switzerland has a neutral policy in the international arena.

 More than $ 4 billion spent on the military budget represents only about 0.8% of a country's GDP.



12. New Zealand

New Zealand consists of two large islands and several small islands. 

The majority of the country's population is well educated due to a developed education system. 

New Zealand’s self-defense forces are focused on internal defense - not an easy task, given the geography of the country. 

In the army, there are just over 8,000 employees, and 1.13% of the country's GDP is spent on defense from the budget.



13. Austria

It is largely a mountainous country. With a population of more than 8.5 million people, Austria is one of the richest countries in the world with 

a very high standard of living, as well as a high level of education.

The Austrian armed forces are currently focused on defending the country. 

Austria generally does not participate in international missions; and Austrian troops are currently present only in very small quantities 

in Kosovo, Lebanon and Bosnia and Herzegovina.



14. Denmark

While Denmark cannot boast of the most peaceful national armed forces in the world, it can boast of being recognized as the happiest country 

in the world with a high level of wealth.

The armed forces of Denmark have a budget of more than 22 billion dollars and they are fully focused on maintaining peace, protecting 

the sovereignty of Denmark.



15. Iceland

With a population of just over 325,000, Iceland again this year retained its position as the most peaceful country in the world. 

In the Armed Forces, which do not constitute a regular army, there are just over 200 people who control Icelandic airspace and territorial waters.

Iceland is a member of NATO, but it is the only member state that does not have a regular army.
