Datong Hanging Monastery, Xuankong Si(현공사)

There are in the Chinese province of Shanxi, which is 65 km from the city of Datong, a temple complex located right in the rock, 

next to Mount Hengshan.

This suspension monastery is called Xuanqun-si. 

It was built during the Northern Wei dynasty, in 491 AD.

 And for more than 1,400 years, this complex has not changed much.

Along the wall of the monastery, walking along a steep rock, there are at least 40 halls and pavilions. 

This place on the rock was chosen many centuries ago not by accident, it is in full protection from natural aggression.

He and his inhabitants never get snow or rain, and in the summer days it is protected by a fertile shadow.

 Xuanqing-Ssu is the only temple in China in which three religious and philosophical schools are united: Buddhism, 

Taoism and Confucianism.
