Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland and the center for most international travelers.

If you are visiting Iceland, you almost certainly will arrive in Reykjavik.

 The city is full of amazing sights to look out for, including its colorful buildings, a picturesque pond called Tjörnin and

 an impressive collection of works of art at the National Gallery of Iceland.

To truly understand what is still Iceland has yet to make the most incredible day trips from Reykjavik to the following directions.

 

 

 

1.Blue Lagoon

In the southwestern part of Iceland, and just 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik, is the Blue Lagoon.

This is probably the most famous place in the whole country, and it is certainly worth a visit.

This vast geothermal resort boasts a warm lake, full of minerals, and water is usually covered with a thick layer of steam.

Just a 30-minute drive from the Icelandic capital is Þingvellir National Park, which was the seat of government of more than 1000 years ago. Today, the National Park is a place of excursions, as well as its history.

 In Thingvellir National Park, you can go hiking in the valley, admiring the rock formations.

 

 

3.geysers Haukadalur

Haukadalur - valley in Iceland, which is about a 90-minute drive east of Reykjavik.

This place is best known around the world for the most beautiful geysers in Iceland.

Humpback whales are less common, but they can still be seen.

 

 

5.Gulfoss

If you drive to the north-east of Reykjavik, then after 90 minutes you reach the Gulfoss.

The name translates as Golden Falls, and this is one of the main attractions in South Iceland.

Gulfoss Although not as high as some of the other magnificent waterfalls, it is a double waterfall that pretends it exciting.

 In addition, Gulfoss fed glacial run-off, which means that the waterfall is the largest waterfall by volume of water in Europe.

 

 

6.Seljalandsfoss

Waterfalls are one of the major attractions of Iceland and can be seen in the vicinity of Reykjavík Seljalandsfoss

- one of the most popular waterfalls.

Located 40 km south of Reykjavik city Selyaland waterfall is over 64 meters in height.

You can walk behind the waterfall, and if you go a little further, you can get up to Glyufrabuy

- a small waterfall, but here you can come very close to the water and make phenomenal photos.

 

 

 

7.Beach Reynisfyara

During the two-hour drive south along the coast can be reached from the capital in the small town of Vik.

Vic is well known for its huge glacier, known as the Vic, but even more reason to visit this place - it is to explore the beach Reynisfyara.

Also known as Black Beach Reynisfyara, it boasts a coastline covered with black pebbles and sand.

 

 

8.skógafoss

To the north of Vic, just two hours drive from Reykjavik, is skógafoss.

Skógafoss is one of the most famous and most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland.

Skógafoss located in the village of Skog and is 55 meters in height.

Tourists here can take a trip along the river Skog until they reach skógafoss, and along the way will see a dozen smaller waterfalls.

It is also possible to climb the trail to the top of the waterfall, which offers incredible views of the valley skógafoss.

 

 

9.Crater Lake Kerið

Less than an hour's drive east of Reykjavik is Crater Lake Kerið.

This volcanic crater filled with fat, bright blue water, and it really looks like another planet.
