특이한 얼음동굴

Vatnajökull glacier , Iceland .

Vatnajökull glacier is located in the land of fire and ice . 

The frozen mass ,  which is the largest ice sheet outside of the polar region , there are several active volcanoes , many of 

which have arisen in recent years .

 In an unstable environment, local travel agencies are not very - it welcomes visitors with open arms in this location , 

but the ambitious travelers - continues to go on  a winter expedition in the icy glacier Cathedral . 

Glass concave ripples went on the floppy underbelly of the glacier, and depending on whether , as the melting  glacier ,

 and move, and the interiors of the caves vary .

Gorner Glacier , Switzerland

Melting ice caps and glaciers , not exactly a new subject for study Gorner glacier .

Mendenhall Glacier , Alaska

You might think , these ice caves are located near the capital of Alaska, and get to them is not very difficult .

 However, this is not so . Until  Juneau is only accessible by plane or boat ( there is no road , connecting the city to the mainland ).

 Ambitious researchers first begin their journey by boat on the water of Lake Mendenhall , then spend hours in the campaign 

on ice and snow , to get to the entrance of the cave . To get there and back requires a full .

Ice Boom abyss , Canada

Ice Boom chasm was discovered in 2005 year cavers and has been studied only a few experienced mountaineers .

 Ice Boom gulf  is one of the most dangerous ice caves , known to man . 

Climbing here begins with a steep ice wall , then be dropped to 200 meters down , in a maze of passages , 

many of which are still unexplored, and have not been studied .

Eisriesenwelt , Austria

The name " World of Ice Giants " is the most suitable for this limestone formation in the vicinity of Salzburg . 

Declared , as the world's largest ice cave , Eisriesenwelt cave network stretches nearly 30 kilometers . 

Cave was officially opened in 1879 , permanently visited by tourists since 1920 the year .

Lake Baikal , Russia

In Siberia , the depths of winter can be very cold time , when even the equipment is out of order , but this does not prevent 

photographers to come to the frozen Lake Baikal in order , to make a really impressive pictures . 

Baikal - is the deepest and largest freshwater lake in the world , but in winter the water freezes in some places the thickness 

of more than a meter .

 Olkhon Island , located in the middle of the lake , boasts in this period, ice caves , grottos and frozen stalactites .
