Building monuments of stone and concrete - is one way to pay tribute to a man, but a truly unique and symbolic way to 

impress someone or some event - is to plant trees. 

Stone monument can be a very long time, for centuries, but the trees - a living legacy that will grow bigger, stronger and 

make more beautiful and majestic views from year to year.

Here are eight examples of live sites from around the world.




Forest Studebaker

Already in 1937, the American car manufacturer Studebaker planted 8,000 pine trees in the area Bendix in South Bend, Indiana. 

Pine trees are planted in such a way that they form huge letters Studebaker. 

However, the corporation has ceased to exist in 1967, but the trees entered in the National Register of Historic Places, is still growing.





Pine forest in the form of Italy

This small pine woods, like a map of Italy, is located on a hillside overlooking the great plain of Castelluccio in Umbria, 

in the Apennine mountains in central Italy.

Pine trees were planted in 1961 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the unification of Italy.





Forest in Minnesota

Deep in the US state of Minnesota, it is a massive forest plantations in the form of State Card. 

It was created by an engineer of forestry units in the 1990s. 

Using a simple map and compass, engineer Bill Lochner outlined a plan and cleared the trees around it to create a state form.

Forest swastika

For several weeks each autumn, when the leaves begin to change color, in a pine forest, about 100 kilometers north of Berlin, 

there is a giant swastika planted of larches.

The swastika was planted in 1938 by Nazi activists, but avoided deforestation prior to the 1990s, when the land was carried out 

aerial photography. 

The German government made a desperate effort to destroy the swastika. 

However, forestry workers when cutting a mistake, and after five years, the swastika appeared again. 

The symbol of the Nazis, as a result, was destroyed in 2000.




Wood Guitar

This gitaroobrazny forest on the fertile plains of the Argentine pampas - another work of love. 

The forest was planted a farmer named Pedro Martin Ureta in 1979 on his farm near the city of Laboulaye, as a tribute to

 his late wife, who loved to play the guitar. 

Wood guitar has a length of about one kilometer and was the attraction of the area for the pilots and passengers of airplanes.

Tribute Mussolini

On the hillside overlooking the town of Antrodoco, in the province of Rieti, Italy, forest of 20,000 trees planted in the form of words dvx.

The word "dvx on" is an alternate spelling for "Dux", and is derived from the Latin word "Duce", which means leader. 

Trees were planted in 1939 in honor of the Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, who took the title of dux (or the Duce). 

The unique monument is clearly visible from the highway and is still growing.





Farm Luecke

The landowner near the city of Austin, Texas, a few miles east of Bastrop, created this gigantic sign, which can be seen from

 airplanes and satellites flying over the earth. His spell «LUECKE», - indicate the owner's name.

Forest in the shape of a heart.

Located near Vikvara in South Gloucestershire, England, the oak forest in the shape of a heart was planted by Winston Howes,

 a farmer, as a tribute to his wife, who died of a heart attack in 1995. 

A few months after her death, House planted oak saplings in a heart shape. 

The trees grew, but a curious figure can be seen only from the air.
