Marathon Marathon des Sables in the Sahara desert is considered one of the toughest endurance events in the world.

This year, the radiant Sun of the Sahara desert and sandstorms were not afraid of approximately 1100 runners.

In 1984 year, 28-year-old Patrick Bauer (Patrick Bauer) went on a foot trip across the Sahara desert.

He has set a goal to pass a 350-kilometre stretch of uninhabited desert, where his path might not meet villages, oases or reservoirs.

Bauer went on a journey with 35-kg rucksack and his journey lasted 12 days.

In 1986, Patrick Bauer was born the idea to found the marathon.

 In this year's Marathon Marathon des Sables is held in the 31-th time, and each year its popularity grows.

Under the rules, a participant in the marathon should have sufficient physical training to bring a backpack with everything necessary for survival.

 Each participant is given a place in a tent for the night, but the rest of the outfit, including a meal, a marathon runner has to be borne by yourself.

This year's Marathon is attended by approximately 1100 people.

Marathon Marathon des Sables is open to both beginners and elite runners, of which attracts the Sahara desert from around the world.

Accompaniment of the Marathon: 130 volunteers on race route 450 support staff workers, 120 thousand liters of mineral water,
