가뭄과 기후변화로  기록적인 최저치를 기록한 미드 호수의 수위

네바다와 애리조나 사이의 콜로라도 강에 형성된 북미 최대의 인공 저수지인 미드 호수 (Lake Mead)는 역사적인 최저치로 줄어들어 용량의 약30%로 떨어졌다. 저수지는 애리조나, 네바다 및 캘리포니아뿐만 아니라 멕시코의 일부를위한 주요 수원으로 거의 25백만명의 사람들과 거대한 농업 지역에 서비스를 제공한다. 가뭄, 기후 변화 및 물에 대한 지역 수요 증가의 결합으로 저수지는 1930년대 이후 가장 낮은 수준으로 떨어졌다. 수위는 현재 1,050피트 (그리고 떨어지고 있으며)로 1983년 1,225 피트의 사상 최고치아래로 떨어졌다.
