Long considered one of the pioneers of organic architecture in the United States, Kendrick Bangs Kellogg’s ‘Desert House’ is

often cited as one of the preeminent examples.

Situated on 10 rocky acres near Joshua Tree National Park—the 4,643 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home was completed

 in 1993 while interior designer and long time collaborator John Vurgin, continued on the project well into the 2000s.

Owners Bev and Jay Doolittle gave Kellogg carte blanche to do what he wanted with the property and Desert House was

the result.

After completion, the couple lived there for over a decade until they decided to downsize, listing the property with

TTK Represents back in 2014 for $3 million.

The property has since sold (amount unknown) but these beautiful pictures by Lance Gerber live on.
